Abstract
Рассмотрены следующие вопросы истории Литовской метрики: название, общее понятие, состав записей книг Метрики, место Метрики среди различных архивных комплексов великого князя литовского, степень аутентичности документов Метрики, статус книг, форма записей, язык документов, этап создания копий, форма хранения книг Метрики, принципы комплектования письменных материалов Метрики, время появления книг Метрики, функции этих книг.
